Baard Energy LLC, an energy project development company located in Vancouver, Washington has awarded AMEC Paragon of Houston, Texas a contract to provide owner’s engineers and project management services as well as Fischer-Tropsch and product workup design for an over $4 billion coal-to-liquid fuel (CTL) project located in Columbiana County, Ohio. The project will produce approximately 35,000 barrels per day of jet and diesel fuel, and other liquid products from coal and biomass feedstock.
AMEC Paragon, a premier engineering and project management organization will support Baard Energy’s Ohio River Clean Fuels (ORCF) project during the feasibility studies, front end engineering and design (FEED) services, and turnkey engineering procurement construction (EPC) phases.
ORCF in cooperation with the Columbiana County Port Authority will construct the CTL plant on approximately 656 acres of land adjacent to the Port Authority's Wellsville Intermodal Facility (Ohio River Mile Post 49). The site sits on Ohio State Route 7 approximately 40 miles north and south respectively, of Interstates 70 and 76/80. ORCF project FEED is expected to commence during the 2nd Quarter 2007.
