Houston ( 2/27/2006 ) - AMEC Paragon Honored With TAPE Gold Award For Outstanding Support of Spring Branch ISD

AMEC Paragon is the announced recipient of the prestigious Texas Association of Partners in Education (TAPE) 2006 Gold Award for their outstanding support of Spring Branch Independent School District (SBISD).
The Houston-based company was recognized at a reception and awards dinner at the TAPE Conference held at the Hyatt Hotel in Austin on January 24, 2006. The Gold Award was presented by Dr. Shirley Nealy, Commissioner of the Texas Education Agency.

In her TAPE Awards endorsement for AMEC Paragon, Linda Buchman, Communications Director for the Spring Branch School District states, “We are so proud of our partnership with AMEC Paragon and are honored that the panel of judges recognized the huge impact AMEC Paragon has had on our students and our district.”

AMEC Paragon has partnered with Spring Branch ISD for four years, helping to further programs such as Texas Scholars, which encourages students to maximize their high school experiences and focus on higher education; an innovative tutorial program, which transports students to the company’s facility for one-on-one tutoring with engineers in an environment that has inspired participants to elevate their career goals; and the mentor program, which pairs students with AMEC Paragon personnel for the purpose of encouraging them to pursue a postsecondary education upon graduation.

The company’s unique involvement includes more than 40 employees dedicated to providing support to students in the local community. “This award reaffirms our outstanding legacy of community relations which is directly attributable to our staff,” says AMEC Paragon President, Simon Naylor. “I am immensely proud to lead a company that contains so many first class individuals and I am awed by the spirit of volunteerism that is inherently a part of our culture.”
