At FileNet’s 2004 UserNetTM conference in Anaheim, California, Paragon Engineering Services, Inc. received the 2004 FileNet Innovation Award for Best Enterprise Content Management (ECM) Application or Solution – Cross-Industry. The award recognizes Paragon’s development of an innovative electronic document management system based on applications developed by FileNet (Nasdaq: FILE), which provides content management and business process management solutions for companies worldwide.
Each year, a panel that includes FileNet senior executives and technology industry leaders evaluates numerous award entries, with the aim of recognizing FileNet customers that have created pioneering software applications or solutions and achieved noteworthy business results. This year’s awards recognized the Best Enterprise Content Management Application or Solution in five categories (Financial Services, Government, Insurance, Manufacturing/Utilities and Cross-Industry) and the Best Business Process Management Application or Solution.
According to Carl Sikes, Paragon’s vice president of engineering, Paragon’s award illustrates the company’s leadership in global project execution.
“This important award from FileNet helps to confirm that Paragon is a technology leader in implementing global electronic work processes, in accordance with our long-term drive to meet the expanding needs of the international oil and gas industry,” Sikes said.
Sikes also noted Paragon employees’ considerable efforts to ensure successful system implementation and continual improvement.
“Our information services team has spent a great deal of effort implementing FileNet as our flagship web-enabled electronic document management system,” Sikes said. “Meanwhile, the numerous project team members who use the system every day are continually helping to improve its effectiveness.”
Paragon uses its FileNet ECM application to manage client deliverables as well as supporting documentation. The system covers the complete project document lifecycle, allows for global access to data, and offers an extensive interactive web-based reporting function.
Marc-Henri Cerar, Paragon’s project information services (IS) manager, described the system’s direct benefits for projects executed at multiple locations worldwide.
“Supporting our recent joint ventures in Angola and Nigeria, Paragon’s FileNet system allows personnel in both locations as well as the U.S. to share information and work within a common database,” said Cerar. “This capability is proving to be indispensable in maintaining data integrity, eliminating paperwork-related confusion and achieving fast-track progress.”
